  1920 Watchmaker Jacques Beaufort founded his own watch factory under the name ELYSEE in a small village close to Bémont (Swiss Jura).

  1921 The first timepiece bearing the ELYSEE name is produced. It is a high quality solid gold ladies’ watch with a bejewelled wrist strap.

  1938 Towards the end of the Thirties, Jacques Beaufort dies. From then on, no more ELYSEE watches are produced.

  1960 ELYSEE is registered anew by the Harer company in the gold town of Pforzheim. The brand takes on a new direction and focuses on the production of mechanical watches with gold cases. Harer is a leading jewellery manufacturer in Germany.

  1991 The ELYSEE brand is sold to Düsseldorf businessman F.W. Reiner Seume.

  1992 ELYSEE’s new brand direction has started. The brand logo is changed and the product range extended. The focus remains for now solely on the German market.

  2000 First business links with neighbouring countries (Austria/ Switzerland/ Netherlands) are established.

  2004 Meanwhile ELYSEE is available in more markets, including those outside Europe.

  2005 A new brand image is launched. ELYSEE becomes heavily involved in historic motor sport. Elysee enters the international AvD-Histo-Monte Rallye for the first time and finishes in second place. For this event ELYSEE creates a participant’s watch – the “Private Label” range is established.

  2006 Graf Berghe von Trips becomes a market ambassador for ELYSEE. One of the most successful Formula 1 racing drivers in the post-war era, he is a perfect fit for the brand. In the same year the first timepiece in this new Edition is launched.

  2008 As a living legend of Formula 1, racing driver Jochen Mass is recruited as a market ambassador – once again distinctive timepieces are created with the collaboration of Jochen Mass in the same year.

  2010 ELYSEE is passed down to the next generation. F.W. Reiner Seume introduces his son Julian into the company, after studying abroad and several stays abroad. 2012 By now the brand is represented in 30 countries.

  2013 Made in Germany! All production is moved to Germany.
